Reform of the Greek social security system in relation to the Bank of Greece
The European Central Bank has received your letter of 14 March 2008 via fax - see attached - in which reference is made to the ongoing legislative reform of the social security system in Greece and its potential repercussions on the status of the Bank of Greece.
In response to your letter, I confirm that the Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) adopted today, on its own initiative, the ECB’s Opinion of 19 March 2008 on a draft law concerning the reform of the Greek social security system (CON/2008/13), in accordance with Article 17.5 of its Rules of Procedure.
